We who live in Canada are concerned about a man that some of us elected
to run the country a few years back. His name is "Stephen Harper" and he
represents the Conservative Government, which in turn is supposed to be
representing the People of Canada, but, in reality, is representing the wishes
of Industry, Money and the few who are in the position lovingly referred
to as
The One Percent.
What does our good friend Stephen want to do?
He wants to send the DIRTYEST OIL IN THE WORLD to the BIGGEST POLLUTER IN THE WORLD (China) by means of a MONSTER PIPELINE crossing hundreds of miles of pristine wilderness, to be loaded into supertankers the size of the EMPIRE STATE BUILDING to transport this SLUDGE though the dangerous shipping routes and environmentally-senstive pristine marine environments of the northern BC coastal areas. This DIRTY OIL is very costly to produce (environmentally, ecologically and financially). This project represents extreme dangers and insults to the environment in every step of its journey. This project is going to cause employment for several hundred dirty hands at the tars sands "pits" and will generate lots of money for Stephen Harper's Rich Friends who own the Oil Companies, the Pipeline Companies, the Shipping Companies ... and will give the Happy Fossil Fuel Ogre (China) a Big Smile because it will be able to spew TONS MORE Carbon-based emissions into our Tired Atmosphere for Years to come.
